looking around
Looking around is a collection of photographs aimed to appreciate and preserve the beauty of the natural world. I was inspired by a book I read as a child, called Ivy + Bean, where the main characters try to find solutions to climate change for a climate fair at their school. Ultimately, they do not find a direct, technical solution to climate change. Rather, they host an event where they bring their peers and adults outside to just appreciate nature, and it is extremely effective. I think the message is so valuable, and the first step in mobilizing people to change and problem solve is recognizing the need to solve the problem in the first place. People need to understand what they’re preserving in order to do so. Through this collection, I encourage viewers to look at their surroundings more often, to understand the importance of the Earth and what it holds for us and everything.
Photographs featured in this collection:
Deer, Migration, Deer, Moon, Arizona, Little Cow, Antelope Canyon, Ocean, Italian Summer, Pigeons, and Trees.
